For years, we have watched American manufacturing jobs move overseas, as retailers look to capitalize on a greater profit margins, by offering bare minimum wages paid to workers who assemble their finished goods. Bishop Collective is looking to lead the retail industry in bringing manufacturing jobs back to the US, and drive down the cost of American manufactured goods to our customers.
While many designers have already begun implementing this process, we feel it is the responsibility of retailers to use their storefronts as a forum for educating consumers on the importance of this initiative.
American made is not just about onshoring and building the middle class, it is also about cultivating community, specifically through fashion. This allows our customers to have direct connections to those designers and makers, who help build our communities everyday.
